It’s episode 68 and the first of 2018, starting the year with a cracking interview with Bonnie MacBird, who writes new Sherlock Holmes novels. Bonnie has years of experience as a Hollywood writer and has loads to say about that, writing Mystery and, of course, we spent a lot of time talking about the world’s greatest consulting detective.
Bonnie was born and raised in San Francisco and attended Stanford University where she earned a BA in Music and an MA in Film. Her long Hollywood career includes four years as a feature film development exec at Universal. She wrote the original screenplay for the movie TRON, and won three Emmy Awards for her documentary writing and producing. She’s produced numerous plays and musicals, and has theatre credits as an actor and director. Art in the Blood, her first novel, written in the style of Arthur Conan Doyle and featuring Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, was published in 2015 by HarperCollins and released in 14 languages worldwide to critical acclaim, with her latest, Unquiet Spirits released just last year.

Thanks Bonnie – but as I always say, an interview is only ever as good as its guest, and you were a great one. Thanks so much for your time.
